Welcome to Ladybird Class Website!

Thursday 4th May

Good morning Ladybirds!

As you know we cannot be at school together today as it is Polling Day.  I have set you some activities which you can see below and you have already been given a pack to take home.

Maths - Making numbers

We have been working on finding different ways of making the number 5 and 10.  This links to your maths awards.  The aim is to recall these number bonds as quickly as you can.  If you would like an extra challenge look at teen numbers and try to find a way of showing how they are made from tens and ones.

Writing lists / instructions

Lots of people will be having tea parties in celebration of King Charles III coronation.   Can you draw what you would like to eat at a tea party (Jam sandwich / cupcake) and write a list of ingredients?   If you are feeling super clever try and write how to make them.

Reading

You have a tricky word sheet to help you practise reading the phase three words.  Remember these are sight words so you do not need to sound them out.  I have updated all your books on bug club so please login and read a new book or play a new phonics game.

Crowns

King Charles will wear a crown for his coronation.  He particularly likes wildlife and nature.  Use the paper card to make a nature crown.  You could stick leaves, seeds, flowers or even daisies to it.

Have fun Ladybirds - remember you can show us your learning on Tapestry - we would love to see it!

Welcome back!   This term our Explore themes are 'Wondering about Winter' and 'Where does it all begin?'   You can find information about our learning in the curriculum newsletter below.

'Muddy Mondays' will start wb 16th January.  All children will need to come to school in uniform and bring their change of clothes on their week - letters and an app message where sent home on Thursday 5th Jan detailing dates and clothes required.  We do have a good stock of waterproof overs so please let us know if you would like to borrow them.

PE remains on a Friday, all children should come to school in uniform and change into their PE kit.  PE will be kept in school on pegs and sent home towards the end of the half term.  A gentle reminder to name all of your child's uniform, PE kit and changes of clothes.

Very soon your child will come home with their Maths Award card and 3 targets.  The targets are linked to next step learning in Reading, Writing and Maths, they can be found in the back of communication books.   We shall be working towards achieving these in class and any support you can offer your child at home would be wonderful.

Maths awards run throughout the school from the ‘Early Maths Award’ all the way through the rainbow colours.  The rainbow colours are progressive, when your child has completed each step on their award they will receive a certificate in WOW assembly and move to the next colour award.  We shall check maths awards every other Monday afternoon so please make sure they are kept in book bags with communication books.

Please do spend some time with your child reading, working together on the targets and Maths awards as it really will make a difference!

Welcome to Ladybird Class!

We are so excited to begin your Holy Trinity journey. Partnerships with parents and carers is a vital aspect in supporting your child to reach their full potential.  The class website is a great way to keep informed of exciting developments and events in Ladybird Class and key information  that you need to be made aware of.

Your child's home school diary is a form of general communication where we welcome and encourage you to share positive messages about listening to your child read or any other brief information or exciting stories you would like to share with us. Your child's tapestry account will keep you updated on your child's progress during their time in Ladybird Class. We will particularly focus on uploading specific 'WOW' moments for you to reflect upon with your child and we will outline why it was such a significant moment in your individual child's progress!

If you have important information that will impact your child's day at school we ask that you inform the office or email Mrs Lewis the evening before. We will check your child's communication book as often as we can, with this in mind please do feel free to email or handover a note on the gate.
